Counselling and psychotherapy with Monika Allen — North Lincolnshire

Monika, a woman with shoulder-length reddish-blonde hair, smiling warmly at the camera.

Hello, I’m Monika

I don’t know yet what’s going on in your life that’s brought you here — but whatever it is, you’re welcome.

Perhaps you’ve been coping for a long time and it’s got harder to keep coping. Perhaps you can’t quite name what’s wrong, only that something isn’t right. You don’t need to have the words sorted out before you get in touch — and needing to talk to someone doesn’t mean you’ve failed at managing on your own.

I’m a UKCP registered Gestalt psychotherapist with over two decades of experience across the NHS, voluntary sector, and private practice, working with adults. I’m based in Goxhill, North Lincolnshire, where I have my own private therapy room and I also work online.

What people come to me with

I work one to one with people who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including: anxiety, stress and burnout, ADHD, depression, bereavement, trauma, self-doubt, perfectionism, communication, people-pleasing, life transitions, loneliness and isolation. → See the full list of issues I work with

What therapy with me is like

A genuine non-judgemental partnership. I don’t prescribe solutions or tell you what to do. I ask questions that help you uncover your own answers. We focus on what’s happening for you now, though the past comes in where it matters. We work together to help you notice patterns of thinking and behaviour that might be holding you back. → More about me and how I work

New to therapy? Here’s what to expect.

There’s no script. You don’t need to have the words ready. It’s normal to feel a bit awkward at first — that passes quickly. You’re not committing to anything long-term, and you can stop or pause at any time.

Work at your pace. Some people need short-term support around a specific issue; others benefit from deeper, longer-term work. I match the therapy to what you actually need, not a predetermined programme.

We work together, with curiosity and kindness around your self-knowledge, self-esteem, self-confidence, and sense of worth — to support your natural growth. →  What a first session is actually like

Fees and availability

I offer face-to-face, online video, and telephone sessions from my private therapy room in the village of Goxhill in North Lincolnshire.

£75 for an hour session, reflecting my level of training and experience.

Limited spaces available at a reduced fee.

If this feels right…

… a free 30-minute call is a no-obligation way to see whether we’d be a good fit — no commitment, just a conversation.

Call me on 07751 950249 and leave a message with your name and a number to call you back and when would be the best time for me to call you. I’ll return your call as soon as I’m available. Alternatively, you can email me or there’s a contact form here if that’s easier for you. → Get in touch

Please note this isn’t a crisis or emergency service — I’m not available around the clock, and I’m not set up to respond to a crisis in real time. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. If you need support but it’s not an emergency, MIND’s crisis resources can help.
